It's December (I started writing this post in November) and I haven't updated for months! I've travelled a lot this year. New Zealand with my sister earlier in the year, and then a grand European tour that included Scotland, England, Poland, France and Spain - and about 10 weeks of my life.
Consequently I have way too many photos.
In this post, I thought I'd give you a bit of a look at Glasgow. I first visited Glasgow briefly a few years ago on the way to the Isle of Mull. Before I went there people told it's horrible, run down, dirty, rough, and lots of other negatives. I didn't have long there my fleeting experience of the city was quite different. This year I decided to revisit Glasgow and spend a few more days exploring the city. It's a city of contrasts. Beautiful leafy suburban landscapes knock against gritty urban cityscapes but the overwhelming feeling for me was of a city full of life and culture, and of a city that doesn't take itself too seriously. The buskers have a code of conduct which, for the most part, they observe. Ironically I did hear one piper, who was rather too close to a folk singer, playing "The Sounds of Silence". I could only laugh.
Anyway here are a few of my Glasgow photos - I am planning a little book. If I ever get around to finishing it, it will be for sale. But it might take some time ...
